ABOUT BASE32
Base32 encoding represents binary data using 32 printable ASCII characters (A–Z and 2–7). It's defined in RFC 4648 and commonly used in TOTP/OTP secrets, DNS zone files, and systems where case-insensitivity or human readability of encoded data matters.
Unlike Base64, Base32 avoids characters that are visually ambiguous (0/O, 1/I/l) and is entirely uppercase, making it more suitable for manual entry. The tradeoff is ~20% more overhead than Base64 (each 5-bit group maps to one character).
