ABOUT PASSWORD STRENGTH
What makes a strong password?
- Length: At least 12 characters (longer is better)
- Variety: Mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
- Uniqueness: Avoid common words, patterns, and personal information
- Randomness: Use a password manager to generate truly random passwords
Entropy: Measures password randomness in bits. Higher entropy means more possible combinations and better security. Aim for at least 60 bits.
Crack Time: Rough estimate of how long it would take to crack your password using brute force at 1 billion guesses per second. This assumes no other attack vectors (phishing, database breaches, etc.).
⚠️ Privacy Note: All analysis is performed locally in your browser. Your password is never sent to any server.
